A short walk beyond Hell Valley, the brook channels the hot spring waters

LAKE KUTTARA
This beautiful crater lake is a near perfect circular caldera 8 km in circumference,
surrounded by virgin forests. Its crystal-clear waters are ranked as the purest

UPOPOY NATIONAL AINU MUSEUM & PARK
The new national center for the revival and development of indigenous Ainu culture,
an invaluable culture in Japan that is close to extinction. On the foreshore of Lake Potoro in Shiraoi, 30 minutes by car from Takimoto Inn.

NOBORIBETSU DATE JIDAI HISTORICAL VILLAGE
A recreation of life and culture in Edo period (1603-1867), the village includes 94 wooden houses, the Great Ninja theatre and other historical enactments, 10 minutes drive from Takimoto Inn.

BEAR PARK
Located on the top of Mt. Shihorei, the bear park is a 7-minute gondola ride from Noboribetsu-Onsen.
It feature over 100 bears, a museum specialising in brown bears, Ainu tourist village, and shop.

NOBORIBETSU MARINE PARK NIXE
The aquarium is home to a diverse array of marine life, featuring clear underwater tunnels like walking on the seabed, penguin parades, dolphin shows and more. In Noboribetsu town, 12 minutes by car from Takimoto Inn.

For beginner/intermediate skiers and snowboarders, the Sunlaiva Skifield
offers a sampler of Hokkaido’s famed skiing just 15 minutes drive from Takimoto Inn.
